A new legal action has been filed in the case of Kendrick Johnson.
Kendrick Johnson, aged 17 was discovered dead in a rolled up gym mat back in January 2013 at Lowndes High School, Valdosta, but following an investigation it was determined that he died of an accidental death. However, his parents did not accept the findings and filed a wrongful death suit earlier this year against Brian and Branden Bell, who they say killed their son which was later withdrawn.
Now, there will be a hearing before the end of August which will determine how much the Johnsons will have to pay the lawyers of the defendants which could cost them nearly $1 million.
They have also filed another suit against the Bell brothers which alleges they violently assaulted their son along with at least one other accomplice. They also allege that the Bells told their father who is an FBI agent who entered into an agreement with authorities and the school to cover up the death.
The the U.S. Department of Justice have said they cannot prove that Kendrick was killed following the three year investigation and it appears that the Johnson family have no proof that that was the case.
